SPRING POWER PRACTICES

March 20 - June 20

SPRING: This is a time to nourish yourself in all ways to support your body as it detoxes from winter and stores vital life force energy in preparation for the extroverted season of summer. It’s a time of anticipated abundance, prosperity, potential and new growth.

The major players this season are (1) the liver associated with kindness, generosity and patience when in balance (anger, frustration, envy, and feeling stuck when imbalanced) and (2) the gallbladder associated with decision making and is known as the “courage organ.”

Movement that simulates the blood flow especially in the waist / abdomen area (ex. suffi grinds) supports the liver and gallbladder. Bitter foods signal to the liver to detox toxins and supports digestion. Too much sugar causes a traffic jam in the blood stream and delays hormones supporting the body in the way they are meant to.
